CYCCM Junior Sailors ...... on the move......

The last week of July, Trevor Long, Kenny Griffen and Abby Lord traveled to the USODA Layline Nationals in Deltaville, VA. Abby participated in Team Nationals and Girls Nationals.  Trevor and Kenny joined Abby and participated 4 days of Fleet Nationals. Abby and Trevor both qualified to participate in Team Trials to be held in San Francisco in April 2011. 

· On July 26 & 27, 6 CYCCM Juniors--Abby Lord, Allie MacCausland, Kenny Griffin, Trevor Long, Brendan Lord and Mary Coale headed to Junior Olympics in Island Heights, New Jersey. After two days of sailing:

o Brendan Lord place 1st in White Fleet and 2nd overall in the Silver Fleet.

o Abby placed 10th in Blue Fleet in the Gold Fleet (23rd overall)

o Trevor placed 9th in Red Fleet in the Gold Fleet (16th overall)

o Kenny finished 21st overall

· August 3-5th, Abby Lord, Trevor Long and Kenny Griffen participated in the USODA New England Opti Championships, held in Newport, Rhode Island. They sailed 3 days, two of which were in steady 15-20 knots of wind, in what was described on the website to be "the third largest one-design regatta in the world this year," "with 376 sailors from U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Argentina, British and U.S. Virgin Islands and Switzerland."
