Harbor Sailing: The Friday Night Series presented some challenging conditions. The guest race committee (Gerrit and Patti Schulze and Jay Corcoran) set a windward-leeward course in light wind out of the north, only to see the wind die and then clock completely around to out of the south, all in the first race. The race committee reset the course for the second and third races. The guest race committee was provided further support by Commodore Jack Lord and his wife Julie (who brought their golden retriever out for his first trip on the water). Five Lasers and three 420s participated this past Friday. The 420s had inter-family competitions, with Charlotte List racing against her brother Rob List, and Lindsey Press racing against her sister, Brady Press. During the second race, there was a lot of boat traffic in the channel, including one charter fishing boat that had a line out which literally hooked the boat of Laser competitor and long-time Corinthian Steve ("Chuck") Ward, who was visiting from Minnesota. Ward was leading the race until he was "reeled in." Results: Laser: Race One: 1) Dick O'Keefe, 2) Steve Ward, 3) Roberta Nuss, 4) Gene Cathrall, 5) Bill Moore. Race Two: 1) Nuss, 2) O'Keefe, 3) Ward, 4) Cathrall, 5) Moore. Race Three: 1) O'Keefe, 2) Ward, 3) Nuss, 4) Cathrall, 5) Moore. 420 Fleet: Race One: 1) Charlotte List and Erin O'Keefe, 2) Lindsey Press and Rob List, 3) Brady Press and Abby Lord.
